Is There Such Thing As Cheap Diamond?

by Lorraine Jacobs

The diamond remains as one of the most coveted gems in history. It depicts a whole range of concept such as power, love, invincibility and refinement. Because of the many beautiful things that such gemstone encompasses and the troubles associated with its mining, owning one could cost a person an arm and leg. If you are on a tight budget and are looking for ways to secure cheap diamond, don't fret, there are certain things that you can do to get this prized possession in just a fraction of its original value.

As a start, why not search for online jewelry shops that are known for their inexpensive jewelry pieces but are high in quality? Online jewelry shopping is a very practical means to come up with an inexpensive diamond because compared to local jewelry shops that usually place markup prices on their diamonds to cover their overhead expenses, online jewelry stores offer their clients with competitive prices in such a way that they don't incur additional costs often induced by overhead expenses. You can also try participating in online diamond auctions where jewelers usually bring to the table some of their inexpensive diamonds. Of course, if you buy online you are definitely saving your money, time and energy without the need to exhaust yourself from personally visiting one jewelry shop to another.

If you have no issues purchasing and owning pre-owned blings, another option that you can do is to personally visit stores that offer either discounted or inexpensive jewelry pieces. You can find these shops in the form of pawnshops and thrift stores. However, if you intend to go for this option you must have the right knowledge about sparklers so that you will know if the gemstones you are about to buy are real or fake. Likewise, be prepared to get a bit disappointed because at most times you might leave a shop without any purchase, but if you're lucky enough you can get a good deal for sparklers that are still in good condition or you can even get rare pieces for that matter.

Another practical approach that you can do to get cheap diamond is to buy loose diamond. A loose diamond is economical because aside from being a real sparkler it hasn't been used for any jewelry production process; therefore you can buy it in its purest state. Unlike a diamond that is already set on jewelry, buying loose diamond won't cost you that much because you don't have to pay for the metal used to make the jewelry where the diamond is mounted on, the services, warranty coverage, gift casing and more. With loose diamonds, you have the option to customize your jewelry according to your own preference.

Downgrading is also a good way to get cheap diamond. Downgrading one or two of the 4Cs of diamonds can profoundly affect their market value. If you're worried that downgrading can alter the quality of your diamond, don't fret because downgrading only induces very little or no discernible reduction on the quality of a sparkler. For example, in terms of clarity downgrading instead of buying flawless diamond, you can just settle for a diamond that has lower clarity rating but can still be considered as eye-clear, or in terms of carat try purchasing diamonds that have carat grades shy away from full numbered or exact half numbered carats.

Lastly, if you're budget won't permit you to buy either flawless or downgraded diamonds, clarity enhanced diamonds are good alternatives. All diamonds, except for rare and flawless ones, contain flaws known as inclusion or imperfection. The inclusion is what determines the clarity grade of a diamond. So, when you speak of clarity enhanced sparklers they have imperfections that were corrected by irradiation, filling imperfections, laser drilling and so on, but such quality enhancements are not discernible for the untrained eyes; thereby making this option a good one for people with tight budgets.

Cheap diamond is not really hard to find if you just know how and where to find it. Visiting online shops, pawnshops and thrift stores that usually sell inexpensive jewelry pieces is a good start for your search. But then again, if you don't want to waste time searching, you can always go for clarity enhanced diamonds. They are generally inexpensive but have apparent high quality aesthetic appearances.
